Slow Cooker Apple Cinnamon Pork Chops

Pork and fruit go very well together. Apples go particularly well with pork chops. That sweet & savory combination is wonderful.

What Type of Pork Chops Work Best?

I like to buy a mixed package of loin and rib chops. You can also use boneless or bone-in pork chops.

I wouldn't get them too thick though, Maybe 1 inch or so.

Do the Chops Need to be Browned First?

No they don't. They come out delicious just by adding them in as is.

This recipe is really easy to make, because there is no pre-cooking involved. Just layer in the ingredients and cook!

Favorite Apples to Use?

I prefer to use a mix of apples. Some Granny Smith, and some Fuji. That way it's not too tart.

You can use what you like, and peel them or not, it's up to you.

Layering is the key to the juiciest and most delicious pork chops.

Here's how to make them:

I like bone-in as they seem more tender to me.

I poured the juice off into a saucepan heated to boil and thickened with a bit of cornstarch & water. Made a great sauce over rice and veggies.

Instead of the granny Smith apples, can I substitute with a jar of spiced apple rings?

I have tried this a few times-it's delicious! I tried with cinnamon but thought it was too sweet with the apples and brown sugar. I have added honey and I rub mustard on the chops with kosher salt and a bit of granulated garlic. The mustard adds some zing once all the juices begin to mingle. Great recipe!

Can I prepare this the night before in the croc pot? Or will the apples browning mess it up? TIA!

    • Sandy says

I haven't tried it, but an apple browning won't be an issue once it's cooked. Be sure to keep the pork at a safe temperature.
